  3. The Lord’s Church Is Different The Lord’s church is different because of what it was… • It was purposed by God (Eph. 1:9,11; 3:11) • It was preached by God (Eph. 3:21) • It was purchased by God (Acts 20:28)

  4. The Lord’s Church Is Different The Lord’s church is different because of what it is… • It is the church of the savior (Eph. 5:23) • It is the church of the saved (Acts 2:47) • It is the church of the sacred writings (1 Cor. 4:17; 7:17; Col. 4:16; 3 Jn. 9; Rev. 1:4)

The Lord’s Church Is Different The Lord’s church is different because of what it is not… • We follow a different rule book (the NT), not a manual, discipline, catechism, etc. • We have a different founder (Christ), not Luther, Calvin, Wesley, Smith, Eddy, etc. • We wear a different name (Christian), not Episcopalian, Catholic, Lutheran, etc.

  8. The Lord’s Church Is Different The Lord’s church is different because of how it acts… • It seeks to live pure lives (1 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 5:27) • It suffers for the cause of Christ (1 Thess. 2:14) • It sustains the truth (1 Tim. 3:15)

  9. Is This Church Really Different? • We don’t simply claim it, we demonstrate it • Come experience the difference! • Simple worship • No man-made laws changing • No gimmicks
