  2. Expensive Love • Is this what comes to your mind when we mention Expensive Love?

  3. Expensive Love • Or does this come to your mind? • It’s this “Expensive Love that we want to consider this morning.

  4. Let’s begin with Jesus statement • (John 15:13 NKJV) "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.

What if the Price is too high? • (Luke 14:26-27 NKJV) "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also,he cannot be My disciple. {27} "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

  6. The Price of the interrupted life

  7. The interrupted home life • (Mat 8:21-22 NKJV) Then another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father."{22} But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

We Don’t know what awaits us! • (Mat 24:4-13 NKJV) {10} "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. {11} "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. {12} "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. {13} "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

A Description of Love • (1 Cor 13:4-7 NKJV) Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; {5} does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; {6} does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; {7} bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  35. Is it Worth the Price?

  36. What are the Choices? • Would you want a world of hate? • Would you want a world without our God?

The Lord’s Questions • (Mat 16:25-27 NKJV) "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. {26} "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? {27} "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

  43. What are our Choices? • Love is expensive, but what is the alternative? • Are we willing to give our lives in His service? • Will we pay the price of love?

  45. Final Question • (Mat 16:26 KJV) For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
