Tossing Lines • Take a moment to become familiar with your lines • In order of appearance on the sheet: SHOUT THEM OUT!!!
Actor’s Circle 1.3.-115 • 1. We will read one line of text at a time, regardless of where the sentences end --As we read, note words and phrases you don’t understand in your journals. Write down any questions that come up.
Actor’s Circle continued • 2. Now we will read full sentences. Read until you come to a full stop (period, exclamation mark, etc.) • What’s happening in this scene? Who are these people?
Actor’s circle 3. Now read by parts, but still going around the circle. Read until your section of dialogue is done.
Response Questions #1 • 1. What is going on in these scenes? Who are these people and what are they doing? • 2. What predictions are made by the witches and how do Macbeth and Banquo react? • 3. What news to Ross and Angus bring Macbeth and Banquo
Cast 1 • Macbeth and Banquo are confident men who eagerly follow the witches 1,2,3 around the room, hungry for news. The witches avoid their pursiut, finally vanishing
Cast 2 • Macbeth and Banquo enter looking fearful. They jump in fright when the witches appear, the witches pursuit of them causes them to retreat cowardly
Cast 3 • The witches try to tempt Macbeth and Banquo with their predictions. Macbeth and Banquo are skeptical of the witches.
Homework • For tomorrow, your group will need a shoebox (or similar sized box) and 12 markers (different things, like buttons,or tokens from a game, lego pieces, etc.)
