1. Because it is important Imporant physics is interesting! High-luminosity Flavor physics Physics LHC/ILC Flavor Energy frontiers (LHC, ILC)
If LHC/ILC finds new particles • In decays of B/D/K/leptons • Their existence in loops verified • Their flavor structure examined, Possible LFV measured • Models constrained/suggested • If LHC/LC finds no new particles • Loops in flavor physics can probe energy scale beyond LHC/ILC Cross ferterization: LHC/ILC ⇔ Flavor Physics
For example: • If LHC/ILC finds H±, or even if not found, If Higgs couplings at ILC shows a pattern like Higgs doublet model ! ⇒ H±
Then, look for H± in B decay BDtn H± couples to quarks and leptons in the way expected by two Higgs doublet model? Btn (present)
2. Because it is ‘cheap’ Super B factories LHC or ILC LHC/ILC ~ 10 Super B factories We can have many of them (different kinds) !
3. Because it is FUN ! • Number of physicists for an analysis topic : • a few/topic for B fatory • ~100 /topic for LHC/ILC • As a result, • B factory will create lots of good physicists • LHC/ILC will create lots of excellent politicians
