Sample Product of Grady’s Model Building: “Mapping of Core Theoretical Foundations of My Model” • SYNTHESIS • Individual ways of making sense shape our “reality” and behavior • Our sense making—and thus our feelings and actions—tends to be automatic and limited, especially under conditions or threat or stress • Awareness of how we make sense can free us from reflexive thought and action and fosters development of the quality of our consciousness as well as more effective action • Enhanced consciousness and more effective action create conditions that further foster learning and development Note: This is a brief summary of my effort to identify the chief influences on my practice and the related underlying assumptions . My “Model of Everything”contains a section in which I explore in some depth the interconnections among all these elements, reflecting on points of synergy and tension, and identifying gaps and puzzles.
