Program Purpose • Improve student success by systematically linking three successful strategies: • Guided degree pathways • Redesigned mathematics gateway courses • Corequisite remediation • ODHE has awarded pilot grants to nine public institutions

Program Background • Outcomes-based funding • Multifaceted approaches have the greatest impact on student success and affordability: • Degree pathways • Mathematics gateway courses • Corequisite remediation • Ohio Mathematics Initiative (OMI) learning outcome standards • Quantitative reasoning • Statistics • Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics (STEM) • Ohio’s Uniform Statewide Standards for Remediation-Free Status
Timeline (past, present and future) • RFP released/convening: April 20/21, 2016 • Proposals submitted by: May 31, 2016 • Awards announced: June 30, 2016 • First convening of awardees: October 7, 2016 • Second convening of awardees: December 2, 2016 • At least one pilot launched: January, 2017 • Remaining 2 to 4 pilots launched: September, 2017 • Plan for expanded implementation: September, 2017

Submit a plan for expanded implementation • September, 2017 • Submit a plan to ODHE that outlines the process and timeline for an expanded implementation of all facets of the pilots • Should include data from January 2016 pilot(s) • Can all mathematics gateway courses use corequisites? • How could corequisites be applied for gateway courses in other majors?
