1. Healing in the Name of Jesus Act 3:16 And His Name through faith in His Name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. To Say: “In The Name of Jesus” isn’t a Magic word… What does it Mean – “In The NAME of …” ?? Keep the NAME of God HOLY !! Why the Name of Jesus ?? It is all through Faith IN HIS NAME..!!!

Healing in the Name of Jesus What does it Mean “In the NAME of….” !! • What Is in a NAME ?? • We aren’t an ID number – we are identified by our NAME • Our ID number doesn’t say anything about our character or personality • BUT: When my NAME is mentioned – then my whole Person is being recalled to memory • A NAME – speaks of Identity or Character, even an indication of Honor and Authority - Uniqueness • Marriage is a good example of this: Going in the Name of… • The Wife (and Children) – has a certain Authority and Identity – when she goes the Name of the Husband (or the children in the Name of their Father) • And so it is with God also. • If I say I stand in His Name – it should bring Respect, and Obedience • 1Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. • After these words – there were no rain for 3 & half years !! • Everything Elijah said and did – caused people to know that he was Prophet of the LIVING GOD… • 1Kings 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth. • We have to Keep the Name of God Holy, through our Words and Deeds…

Healing in the Name of Jesus Keep the NAME of God HOLY !! • Right through the old Testament – into the New Testament – you will find every once and a while – that the Bible refers to Keeping the Name of God Holy !! • God is very much aware of His Name…!!! What it Represents… • Lev 19:12 And ye shall not swear by My Name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the Name of thy God: I am the LORD • LORD – Meaning – YHWH – Yaweh or Jehovah – the Self Existent One • Exo 3:13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them? • Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. • King David understood this very well. • 1Sam 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. • 1Sam 17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. • 1Sam 17:47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands. • Later David wrote in Ps23… • Psa23:3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake.

Healing in the Name of Jesus Keep the NAME of God HOLY !! • Jesus started His Model Prayer for us with the following words… • Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. • Meaning – Ensure that The Name of God is made Holy, and then keep it Holy.. • G37 & G40: to make holy, (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate (Respect or show Reverence): - hallow, be holy, sanctify. Sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated): - (most) holy (one, thing), saint. • Consecrate means – to set aside from all – and keep it clean/pure. Not to be touched by anything that could defile it. • NOW WHY we may ask, does God expect this from His People and His Children, and even us today… ?? • Deut 10:20-21 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; Him shalt thou serve, and to Him shalt thou cleave, and swear by His Name. He is thy praise, and He is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. • Because He wants His Name to be the one we can Hold Onto, and TRUST IN, and Rely UPON – for Protection, Answers, Salvation, Healing, Hope and a Future… !!! • He also want others to be able to SEE WHO HE IS in us and through us, for them to be willing to BOW before Him, and Respect Him and Worship Him for WHO HE IS !! • That will Bring GLORY and Joy to Him… !! • Prov18:10 The Name of the LORD is a Strong Tower: the Righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Healing in the Name of Jesus Keep the NAME of God Holy !! • Eze36:20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. • Eze 36:21 But I had pity for Mine Holy Name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. • Eze 36:22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. • Eze 36:23 And I will sanctify My great Name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. • If you read the whole of Chapter 36 – you will see that it is a prophetic word that God gave Ezekiel for the Children of God that will come when the Messiah has come. • Israel thought it to be for them when they came out of Babylon back to Jerusalem. But it didn’t come into fulfillment – till after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit happened on the day of Pentecost.. • And we can take this prophecy for us today – and understand that God wants His Name to be made holy (Hallowed) in us, and through us – His Children…

6. Healing in the Name of Jesus Why the NAME of Jesus !! • Luk 1:30-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. • Luk1:32-33 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David: and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end. • Luk1:34-35 And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God. • Luk2:9-11 And an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. • Luk2:12-14 And this is the sign unto you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men in whom he is well pleased. • Then later in the New Testament Paul writes… • Heb1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. • Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: • Eph1:19-20 and what the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which He (God) wrought (brought about, worked it out)in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and made Him to sit at His right hand in the heavenly places, • Eph1:21-23 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.

7. Healing in the Name of Jesus Why the NAME of Jesus !! • In Acts 3 – the First miracle happened by the hands of Peter & John: • Act 3:3-5 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. • Act 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. • Then Peter explained it all later to everyone questioning them of this miracle: • Act 3:12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? • Act 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. • Act 3:14-15But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. • Act 3:16 And His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. • The Disciples received this Understanding & Faith from Jesus on the night before Jesus was Crucified…!! • And then they received the Power - which is really the Confidence & Authority AFTER the OUTPOURING of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.. • Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father. • Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. • Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask anything in My name, that will I do.

8. Healing in the Name of Jesus It is all through Faith…!! • Act 3:16 And His name through faith in His Name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. • Meaning: We first have to UNDERSTAND what His Name Means & Stand for • Then we put our Hope & our Trust – our FAITH in that Meaning!! • And then we act out what we believe – by SAYING: • Act 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. • 2Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight: • Jam 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. • Jam 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. • Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things we hope for, the certainty of things we cannot see. • Heb 11:6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently search for Him. • He Rewards us, by letting what we say or ask – come into being – to PROVE that He does exist and that the spiritual isn’t just a wishful thinking, but that it is REAL and ACTIVE and ALIVE – for all to see and experience !! • Heb 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was prepared by the Word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are invisible. • 2Cor 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

9. Healing in the Name of Jesus It is all through Faith…!! • Jam 2:17-18 (ISV)In the same way, faith by itself, if it does not have any works, is dead. But someone may say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without any works, and I will show you my faith by my works. • Jam 2:19 You believe that there is one God. That's fine! Even the demons believe that and tremble with fear. • Jam 2:20 Do you want proof, you foolish person, that faith without works is worthless? • Jam 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. • THUS: You have to SPEAK and ACT OUT what you believe – and APPLY the Authority that Jesus has brought about for you…!! • SPEAK IN HIS NAME – But remember – Keep His NAME HOLY – in order for every Devil and Demon & Sickness and every name under Heaven or on Earth, will KNOW that you are standing under the Authority of God and Jesus, and will bow it’s Knee !! • Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God. • Rev 19:16 And He hath on his vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. • Mat 28:18 Then Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. … • ENFORCE that Authority – and you SHALL SEE the RESULT of your Faith in the NAME of Jesus…!!! • Mar 16:15-16 Then He said to them, "As you go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who doesn't believe will be condemned. • Mar 16:17-18 "These are the signs that will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands; even if they drink any deadly poison it will not hurt them; and they will place their hands on the sick, and they will recover." ******** A M E N ********
