The Assignments Division consists of two units: 1. The Assignment Officer (AO) Unit 2. The Assignment Technician Unit
AO Responsibilities -- Bureaus are their clients. Represent all regional and functional bureaus in the assignment process. -- Counsel and advise bureaus on HR/CDA policies and procedures throughout the bidding cycle. -- Ensure eBid position entries are accurate. -- Negotiate timing and training schedules during the summer transfer season.
-- Bring proposed assignments, curtailments, and extensions directly to the assignment panel on behalf of the bureaus. -- Prepare and send assignment notices, schedule training, and negotiate timing and transfer issues. -- Draft responses to inquiries concerning bureau assignment issues and related personnel issues such as OIG reports or briefing materials for the DG.
