Children Must Obey The Lord • “Put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt.” Jos 24:14 • Children can and must obey the Lord even while they are children – 2 Chr 34:3; 2 Tim 3:15 • Other children are not the standard to follow • “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” – Eph 6:1
Children Must Obey Their Parents In The Lord • Children who do not obey and honor their parents are not serving the Lord. • Obedience is offered without talking back and rolling eyes – Heb 5:7,8; Phil 2:8; Isa 50:5,6 • Women must choose to serve God; not society’s standards; not themselves. • Parents deserve obedience and honor – Josh 24:13
Children Can Help Their Family To Serve The Lord Together • “Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward…” – Psalm 127 • Children should encourage and participate in family bible studies, prayers, etc… • Faithful children are a blessing but unruly children can destroy a home -

Conclusion • “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” should be the words of children as well as their parents. • So many important decisions in life will be made in youth. All of those decisions must be based on a determination for “me and my house” to serve the Lord.
