  1. CELL CYCLE JEOPARDY Review of Mitosis

  2. Prophase & Metaphase Anaphase & Telophase Cell cycle Grab Bag! 100 100 100 100 200 200 200 200 300 300 300 300 400 400 400 400 500 500 500 500 FINAL JEOPARDY!

  3. What is Metaphase? The second phase of mitosis. Prophase & Metaphase 100 points

  4. What is Prophase? In this phase, the nucleolus and nuclear membrane disappear. Spindle fibers begin to form. Prophase & Metaphase 200 points

  5. What is Metaphase? During this phase, chromosomes line up in the center of the cell and spindle fibers attach to the centromeres. Prophase & Metaphase 300 points

  6. What are chromosomes? These form during Prophase when chromatin condenses. Prophase & Metaphase 400 points

  7. What are centromeres? These hold identical chromatids together. Prophase & Metaphase 500 points

  8. What is Telophase? The final phase of mitosis. Anaphase & Telophase 100 points

  9. What is Telophase? In this phase, a new nuclear envelope appears. Anaphase & Telophase 200 points

  10. What is Anaphase? In this phase, each of the replicated chromosomes moves to opposite ends of the cell. Anaphase & Telophase 300 points

  11. What are chromosomes? During Telophase, these uncoil and begin to lose their rod-like appearance. Anaphase & Telophase 400 points

  12. What is cytokinesis? This must occur after Telophase has been completed. Anaphase & Telophase 500 points

  13. What is Interphase? This phase occupies the greatest portion of time in the cell cycle. Cell Division 100 points

  14. What is Interphase? During this phase, the cell grows, makes a copy of its DNA, and prepares to divide. Cell Division 200 points

  15. Daily Double!

  16. What is replication? The process of making an exact copy of DNA in the nucleus. Daily Double! Cell Division 300 points

  17. What is the cell cycle? This is made up of the continuous processes of mitosis, cytokinesis, and Interphase. Cell Division 400 points

  18. What are daughter cells? After mitosis, one copy of DNA has been distributed to each of these. Cell Division 500 points

  19. What is osmosis? The diffusion of water molecules. Cell Cycle 100 points

  20. Daily Double!

  21. What is 46? In humans, the number of chromosomes in each daughter cell after division. Daily Double! Cell Cycle 200 points

  22. What is diffusion? When molecules move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Cell Cycle 300 points

  23. What is an autotroph? This kind of organism can make their own food. Cell Cycle 400 points

  24. What is C6H12O6? The chemical formula for glucose. Cell Cycle 500 points

  25. This describes the relationship between the photosynthesis and respiration equations. FINAL JEOPARDY!
