  1. high tension cable A high tension cable (HV cable) is a cable used for high-voltage electric power transfer. A conductor and insulation are used in a cable. Cables are known as completely shielded. This suggests that they have a complete rated insulation system composed of insulation, semi-con layers, and a metallic shield. This is in contrast to an overhead wire, which can provide insulation for running voltage but is not completely rated.

  2. In instruments, ignition systems, and alternating current ( AC) and direct current (DC power transmission), high-voltage cables of various types have a number of applications. Due to high-voltage tension, ozone generated by electric discharges in air, or tracking, the insulation of the cable must not deteriorate in all applications. The cable system must prevent interaction with the high-voltage conduit

  3. Quality Two features proved to be paramount during the development of high voltage insulation, which took over half a century to construct. Next, the introduction of the layers of semiconducting. Without even protrusions as minimal as a few μm, these layers must be perfectly smooth. In addition, the fusion between the insulation and these layers must be absolute; any fission, air-pocket or other flaw is counterproductive to the wire, again, even a few μm.
