By RBM, “results-based management”, we mean… • Defining realistic expected results, based on appropriate analysis. • Clearly identifying program beneficiaries and designing programs to meet their needs. • Monitoring progress towards results with the use of appropriate indicators. • Identifying and managing risks. • Increasing knowledge by learning lessons and integrating them into decisions. • Reporting on results achieved and the resources involved.

  3. By result we mean… A result is a describable or measurable change resulting from a cause and effect relationship.

  8. Performance Measurement Framework THE PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT FRAMEWORKis an RBM tool used to plan systematically the collection of data on performance information. WHY ESTABLISH A PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT FRAMEWORK? • To document the major elements of the performance monitoring system so as to better inform the various stakeholders in Canada and in the field. • To assess the level of achievement of the expected results: outputs, outcomes and impact. • To ensure the regular and timely collection of performance information.

  10. Next Steps • A two-day internal product-oriented workshop involving key partner organization participants to ensure full integration of RBM into the Project Implementation Plan Who will attend?
