Objectives: • Provide a general overview of Kentucky Core Academic Standards • Introduce district ELA tools -documents and resources - for planning literacy lessons, including: placemats, standards maps, writing curriculum maps, assessment calendar, lesson seeds and writing units • Provide an overview of the frameworks for reading and writing
Expectations (Effective August 2011) Senate Bill 1 focuses on: • KCAS Kentucky Core Academic Standards • Highly Effective Teaching and Learning Characteristics of Highly Effective Teaching and Learning - CHETL • Assessment Literacy Formative & Summative Assessment
