  2. ‘CR’ in Fiji Govt/Private Radio’s more or less fulfilling the role community radio considering the population composition of less than 850, 000 in total. • Programs run in Fijian, Hindi and English to cater to majority of the population. (entertainment, religion, births & deaths, community event files etc) • A frequency for french broadcast link up. • 24 hour BBC chanel Who is left out? Possibly the new migrants • From China, Japan, India

Environmental Awareness • Anti Litter Campaigns (Min of Environment, Municipal Councils) • Reduce, Recycle and Reuse • Clean Up Campaigns (NGO’s, Youth Groups) • Land Use (Min of Agriculture) • Apart from news and current affairs interviews, talkback shows are a popular way for getting people to voice their concerns and issues eg. Polluted rivers Excessive smoke from vehicles Land clearing

  4. What more can be done? • Bit more creativity to the programs
