Obvious stuff: • Crisp, dark foreground • Bright background (duh) • Aperture priority—largest aperture you have • Fast shutter speed (1/250, depending on your light) • No flash • Higher ISO, if you can(optional) In general (simple subjects)
If you want a black silhouette, meter strictly for the background. • Want a little detail on the front, meter for the background and play with exposure comp or change the angle of your lighting • If the subject isn’t all on a close plane or you want to shoot yourself, use a higher F-stop and higher ISO Details
