  1. The Most Common Cardiac Care Equipment You Need to Know About

  2. Introduction • Disorders of the heart and some parts of the circulatory system are very critical and need appropriate attention at the right time. • People suffering from heart diseases require constant care and constant monitoring of certain vital statistics.

  3. Cardiac Care Equipment • ECG Machine Electrocardiography is the process of recording the electrical activity of the patient’s heart over a period of time. It is very useful when trying to find the root cause of certain heart diseases – especially when the patient is experiencing symptoms such as shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting etc.

  4. Doppler A Doppler is a kind of ultrasound scan that uses reflected sound waves to see how the blood flows through the blood vessels. Major arteries and veins in the arms, legs and neck can be easily tested. Low blood flow or blockages can be easily diagnosed and major diseases such as stroke etc can be avoided.

  5. Ultra Sound Machine Ultrasound machines enhance diagnosis by providing improved imaging of the internal organs of the body.  High frequency sound waves are sent by the machine and these waves are reflected by the organ structures.

  6. Infusion Pump An infusion pump is medical equipment that is used to deliver fluids. These kind of pumps are most commonly used in clinical settings – especially in hospitals, nursing homes and sometimes even in home care facilities. • AED – Automated External Defibrillator The Automated External Defibrillator or the AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses cardiac arrhythmias of the ventricular fibrillation.

  7. Defibrillator Defibrillation is one of the treatments used for cardiac dysrhythmias – which are a life threatening heart disease. A defibrillator is used to deliver a controlled dose of electric current to the heart. This is also called as a counter shock. • Pulse Oximeter Pulse oximeter is used to monitor the oxygen saturation in a non-invasive way. Peripheral oxygen saturation and arterial oxygen saturation can be measured with this device.
