  2. Secede(introduction) To secede means to withdraw or break away from something. Think of a time when you or someone else seceded from a team or organization.

  3. Scourge(page 2) To scourge means to whip or punish. Give an example of a time you have seen someone being scourged on TV.

  4. Indescribable(page 13) Too unusual or extreme to describe Name something indescribable that you have seen.

  5. Henchmen(page 24) A faithful follower or supporter especially someone who is ready to commit a crime. (we might call them a sidekick) Think of a cartoon with a villain that has a henchmen.

  6. Incite (page 26) To incite is to encourage or stir up Have you ever incited anyone?

  7. Solemn(page 31) To do something in a solemn manner means to do it very seriously Would you act solemnly at (1) a kids birthday party or (2) at a military ceremony? Where else would you act solemn?
