Prototypes -Google Docs -Different iteration of codes -Different version of how to send the qualitative data, through twitter and foursquare. -Study length and size -Initial Google latitude study
What we decided upon: Google Latitude {supplemented with} Text messaging

Participant Feedback -Wanted more codes -Wanted longer duration to track ebb and flow -Google Latitude was not tracking properly -More users -Proximity mapping was the best way to generate data -Technology was easy to use after the setup
Communication Errors -Clarity of instructions Project Scope Limitations -Sample size -Timing of project -Direct access to contact -Codes chosen to represent fashion movements Technical Limitations -Google Latitude -Text Messaging
Is this Crowdsourcing? -Data mining versus crowdsourcing -We provided the technological tools for the fashion designers to produce their own mapping data -Controlled study creates an artificial situation -Too much technology involved that created barrier to making it totally crowdsourcing
Future Directions -Streamlining the process via technology choice -Increasing participation and greater incentives
