1887 • Thomas Edison Was the inventor of the phonograph cylinder in 1887. This was originally made to record telephone messages.
1895 • GuglielmoMarchese Marconi, Italian electrical engineer and Nobel laureate, known as the inventor of the first practical radio-signaling system in 1895.
1948 • This is called an LP record. It stands for long-playing microgroove record. It is one type of record. It was introduced in 1948 by a company called Colombia Records.
The phonautograph • This was invented in March 25, 1857 by Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville. This is known as the earliest recording device.
Cassete Tape Recorder • This is called the cassette tape recorder. It is a recording device and you use tape to record.It is invented by a man called William.C Rhodes and invented in 1886.
Gramophone • This is called a gramophone. A man called Emile Berliner invented it. He also invented a vinyl disk. He invented the gramophone in November 8th 1887. You use vinyl disk to record.
1937 • This was invented in 1937.It was invented by a person called Alec Reeves. I think this is the best recording device. Because you can record and listen to it right after you record it and you don't need any thing. Only battery

8 track tape recorder • This is called a 8 track tape recorder. It was invented by Les Paul and was invented in 1947. You use endless loop tape to record.
CD (Compact Disk) • This is called a CD. It is an abbreviation of Compact Disk. It was invented by a company called Sony and was invented in 1976. This is used as a recording disk and you use it in recording devices.
MD (Mini Disk) • This is a MD. It is an abbreviation for Mini Disk. It was invented by a company called Sony and was announced on 1992.You use it in a recording device.
1876 • In 1876, Emile Berliner invented the first microphone used as a telephone voice transmitter. Microphones convert sound waves into electrical energy (the audio signal).
ITunes • This is called the "itunes". If you buy music from here, you can listen music everywhere.This was developed by people called Jeff Robbin and Bill Kincaid. It was released by people called Casady & Greene. It was released on 1999
iPods • This is called an iPod. It was invented on October 23rd 2001. These 3 people, Tony Fadell, Michael Dhuey and Jonathan Ive invented it.
21st Century • In this era audio and recording is done on phones, iPods, computers, in studios and etc.
Hearing/Listening To Music • Most people in this era use headphones with there Mp3s , phones ,this produces music(audio).
Mp3s • Officially, a German company called Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft is responsible for developing and putting the MP3 player on the market in 1987.
Audio On Computers • In this century “The 21st” most people use computers to create and produce audio, But this began in the late 1900s.
Flash Drives • Flash drives are used to transfer audio files and etc. in the year of 2000.
