How to print photographic quality images from your Kyocera Mita color printer in the Media Center
Step 1: The Print Screen at your PC As all sites are not using the same driver, please make sure that you make the following selections in “Properties” at the print screen from your PC: 1)Print to thick paper/media (even if you are using glossy paper that is not thick). Note: printing to thick paper will slow down the printer to allow the toner to properly adhere to the less-porous glossy paper. 2)Set print quality to picture image or photo
Step 2: Preparing the Printer • Once you have selected the proper settings in the print driver, open the Multi Purpose Tray and place the desired paper into it. If the paper is glossy on 1 side, make sure the glossy side is facing up.
Step 3: Interaction with Printer • After you have printed the document from your computer, the color printer panel will beep and blink • Please check the LCD for errors. • If no errors are present, press Go LCD Go button
Step 4: Media Selection Page 1 • If the toner peals from the page or there exist white or dead spots in your print, you are not using the proper paper or missed a selection in Steps 1, 2 or 3. • You can use a wide variety of papers (please see the next slide). ?
Step 4: Media Selection Page 2 Papers that were tested at Tigerville Elementary and worked well are: For a high gloss finish on less-thick paper use: 1)HP 32# bond glossy photo imaging paper coated (glossy) 2 side (Item#Q6545A) 2)Futura Laser Gloss, 40# bond/100# text, coated (glossy) 2 side For a matte finish on thicker paper use: 3)Kromekote high gloss laser paper, 8pt/48# bond, coated 1 side 4) Mohawk Color Copy Gloss, 60# cover/90# index)
Rules of Thumb for other papers • In general, the better the paper, the more it will cost. • The brighter or whiter the paper, the better the print will look. • Make sure any paper that you use is specified for LASER PRINTERS. • Paper can be purchased over the internet for very good prices.
