Catherine of Aragon • Born December 16th, 1485 • Was once married to Henry’s Older brother Arthur, until he passed away • Had a daughter with Henry named Mary who eventually became queen of England, also known as “Bloody Mary” • In 1526, Henry found that he was cursed for marrying his brother’s sister and got a divorce. He made her Princess of Whales, which she did not acknowledge • She died January 7th, 1953 Back to Main Menu

Anne Boleyn • Born May 1500 • September 1st, 1532, she was made Marquess of Pembroke, due to a liking from King Henry • In December 1532, she became pregnant forcing her and Henry to have a secret marriage • September 7th, 1533, Anne gave birth to Princess Elizabeth, who became one of the greatest rulers England has ever had • On May 2, the Queen (along with her brother) was arrested for adultery, incest and plotting to murder the King. There is no proof of any truth but was tried for treason anyway • Anne was executed May 19th, 1536, along with her brother two days before Back to Main Menu

5. Jane Seymour • Born 1509 • In 1535, Jane and her family allowed Henry to stay at their home in Wiltshire, England, but was not until 1536 did he notice Jane’s beauty • Nearly 24 hours after Anne’s death, Jane and Henry were betrothed and married on May 30th, 1536 • October 1537, Jane gave birth to Prince Edward, who a few years later died of tuberculosis. • Two weeks later, on October 24th, 1537, Jane died • She was the only wife buried next to Henry of the six wives, in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle Back to Main Menu

6. Anne of cleves • Born September 22nd, 1515 • Was brought to England in 1540 to be married to Henry, however he thought she was hideous and did not want to marry her. • January 6th, 1540, they were married. • They both agreed the marriage would not work out and filed for a divorce. • Anne and Henry remained very close friends and gave her the honorary title of the “King’s Sister.” She was also given property, including Hever Castle, formerly the home of Anne Boleyn. • Anne lived away from court until 1557 until the coronation of Mary I • She died on July 16, 1557 and buried in Westminster Abbey Back to Main Menu

7. Catherine howard • Born in 1521 • Cousin to Anne Boleyn • Came to court at age 19 and waited on Anne of Cleves • Sixteen days after Henry divorced Anne, they were married on July 28, 1540. Henry was 49 and Jane, no older than 20 • Less than a year into their marriage rumors spread of Jane having affairs with younger men her age, one that she appointed as her secretary • November 1541, Henry found proof of the affairs and Jane was sent to the tower • She was executed February 13th, 1642 and buried near Anne Boleyn in the Chapel of St. Peter Back to Main Menu

Katherine Parr • Born 1512 • Mother was a lady-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon • Had two husbands before Henry • Married to Henry July 12, 1543 • Katherine liked the reformed faith which made her enemies with many. She was known for banning books and she was tried for heresy, but let off • Henry VIII died January 1547, and was soon married to Thomas Seymour in which she had her first child with • A few days later, Katherine was infected with puerperal fever, and died September 5th, 1547 Back to Main Menu
