  7. Lights and Electrics • Ignition switch • Engine Stop Switch • Headlight & Taillight • Brakelight

  8. Oil & Fuel • Know your cruising range • Check oil • Start with full tank • Check for leaks • Check Air filter

  9. Chain & Drive Shaft Chassis • Chain • Drive Shaft • Nuts & Bolts

  10. Spark Arrester/muffler • Attached and working • Wiggle it when cool to make sure attached to manifold • Do not remove arrester • Remove carbon at least once a year

  14. HelmetCare & Condition • Clean • Inspect • Damage / Webbing (spidering) • Lining • Chin Strap Replace helmet every 5 years! If helmet is dropped on a hard surface, it must be replaced!

  15. Getting Familiar with your ATV • Before you ride your ATV,read the owner’s manual carefully. • Take a Certified Safe Rider’s Course 4-H ATV Safety Class is NOT a certified course • Study your manual and look at your ATV to memorize the location of the controls.
