The 17-year-old, who has not been named, was found shortly before midnight on Thursday. Police have issued a warning over the dangers of carrying knives after a rise in the Britain's teenagers are among the most badly behaved in Europe, a study by a think-tank has suggested. On every indicator of bad behaviour - drugs, drink, violence, promiscuity - the UK was at or near the top, said the Institute for Public Policy Research. Police will be using mobile metal detectors at stations around this year's Notting Hill Carnival in an attempt to crackdown on knife crime.

His comments came as the latest teenage knife victim was named as 16-year-old Andrew Holland from Greater Manchester.

A study of 11,000 children found by the time they reached 30 they were 60% more likely to be an alcoholic and nearly twice as likely to have a conviction. The Institute of Child Health study comes as latest figures show the amount children are drinking is rising.

Drinking increases with age:14% of 12-13s and 62% of 16-17s have drunk alcohol in the last week Children who experiment with cigarettes quickly become addicted to the nicotine in tobacco The peak age for both boys and girls committing offences is 14 to 15 15% of all 12 to 17 year olds have been involved in some form of anti social behaviour during or after drinking- mostly getting into heated argument. Frequent drinkers are more likely to have behaved antisocially.
