pattern The principle of art concerned with decorative surface design
motif A motif is each element that makes up the larger pattern. It is made up of one or more shapes. Motifs are the parts that are repeated over and over to create the pattern.
module A 3-dimensional motif.
Rhythm Principle of art that indicates movement by the repetition of elements and objects. Rhythm can be created by the use of patterns and motifs through out the artwork.
How is Rhythm is created in the following pieces? Where and how is your eye led throughout the piece of work?
Probably the most notable artist to make use pattern in his artwork was MC Escher.
