CAMINO HACIA EL VOLUNTARIADO- Tools for inclusivevolunteering
Rationale • Volunteering is becoming more short term in all European countries • This is a challenge both to the organisations that offer volunteering opportunities and volunteers themselves • The skills that are learnt in volunteering often require some sustainability • At the same time, the benefits of volunteering are not accessed by many underrepresented groups.
Aim • To develop sustainability in volunteering, specifically among underrepresented groups: • Early school leavers, migrants and people with disabilities • To collect and share good practice and to increase the partners’ understanding on the following volunteer sustainability issues: • Motivation, recruitment, support (mentoring & rewarding)
Activities • 3 partner meetings for exchanging views + working on the final products • At home: identification of underrepresented groups and their volunteering needs, collection of good practice examples, work with learners on testing the tools in the toolkit. • Preparation of final products.
Final products • Goodpractice case studiesfromdifferentEuropeancountries and differingvolunteeringcontexts • Some in writtenform and a few as YouTubevideos. • Downloadabletoolkitincluding the bestpractices and a couple of simpletools for volunteers & theirsupervisors. • One tool to help volunteersrecordlearning and achievementsfromshorttermvolunteeringactivities in a waythathelpsthemphrasetheseabilitiese.g. in the Europass CV. • Guidelines for volunteersupport
