This report examines the role of Visual Arts Societies in Latin America and the Caribbean, their income sources, and their use of the back-office of other societies. It explores the need for further development of rights in the visual arts field, such as droit de suite and reprography, and suggests establishing relations with existing Rights Reproduction Organizations (RROs) to address common challenges and improve resource management.

Conclusions • VA Societies rely on primary reproduction rights. • VA Rights that need further development: droit de suite, private copy, secondary reproduction rights (reprography). • Reprography: Most VA societies don´t have the resources nor know how to collect this right themselves.
Conclusions (2) • Establish relations with RROs or VA that already exist. • RROs and VA common problems: lack of legal monopolies, lobbying, financial situation, lack of staff. • Coincidences: rights managed, staff with similar capabilities. • Problems: technology, lack of group integration, lack of editors in VA. • VA: Only one IFRRO member.
