  1. Trigon’s Role in Personalizing Marico’s SetWet Deodorant Cans Marico Limited, had launched new variant of personalized deodorants for its male grooming brand Set Wet, for which Trigon played a very important role in getting this executed in terms of printing 5000 personalized sleeves. The brand was offering consumers to get a chance to create their unique Set Wet can with their face and name on their choice of can. • Client Brief • -          Marico will provide the base artworks for the 4 colour variants of Set Wet, with the designated area for the photo, name & Unique code    • -          Marico will provide database of 5000 customers (Unique Code, Name, Photograph & colour variant) to Trigon. Database format will be developed as per Trigons requirement.    • -          Trigon will generate the artwork for 5000 sleeves based on the database inputs – Taking the right colour variant artwork, Placing the Name, Code & the photograph in the designated places • Complexity of the job • Since this was Trigons first project with respect to Variable Data Printing (VDP) it was a learning stage. • Marico team being very co-operative during this process since it was a first for them too we faced the challenges together very smoothly.

  2. How did we go about? Round 1: Understanding the requirements from Marico Round 2: Suggesting them for Image collection in the form of creating a website and allowing the consumers to be able to edit their images similar to uploading a profile picture in FaceBook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Whatsapp etc. This turned out to be quite helpful for them. Round 3: Conducted some dummy prints with 50 names and photographs from Marico team to ensure the image and name placement are right across all 4 variants and also print resolution of the images are good along with sleeve seaming and slitting. Round 4: After spending many months working and checking every process to avoid last minute hiccups, It was time for Marico to launch the #WhereIsYourFacecampaing with the help of their brand ambassador Ranveer Singh and few celebrities like Aalim Hakim (celebrity hairstylist), RannvijaySingha (Roadies), stand-up comedians – Kanan Gill and Abish Mathew to various male bloggers and stylists). We printed & developed 10 celebrity sleeves for this Launch. These cans were gifted by Marico to the respective celebrity to launch / be a part of the campaign and make people aware of this. Round 5: The date was unveiled and the deadlines to place order on the website for this customized cans were declared everywhere on social media. The final database for 4 cans were collected and shared with us for printing, seaming and slitting.

  3. Challenges • The database collected form the website seemed to have minor issue. • Some of the images in the image folder that were shared were rotated and not in • the right direction. • - There were names with special characters and database doesn’t read that. • few names were blank too. • - For certain names the image code was missing to be linked. • - Once all of these got resolved we proceeded with printing of VDP in all 4 artworks • This was a very successful project in terms of Variable Data Printing. How it benefited the client Marico got full support from Trigon in executing this seamlessly and helping them bridge the gab between their thoughts and how to get it to reality.Each can was customized to the person’s liking – right from being able to select the can colour, to the photo and the name, in the website. And the final product that each and every customer received was exactly as per his order placed without any compromise in printing. Its was a momento that consumers will always remember and cherish.
