  3. HOW TO FACE A CRISIS: • 1. WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM THIS? • 2. HOW CAN I GROW FROM THIS? • 3. HOW CAN GOD BE GLORIFIED IN MY LIFE? • 4. WHAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY?

  4. WHO IS GIDEON? • AFTER EGYPT! • AFTER THE 40 YEARS IN THE WILDERNESS • AFTER JOSHUA • DURING THE 400 YEARS OF THE JUDGES! • BEFORE KING SAUL AND KING DAVID

  5. KEY VERSE OF THE BOOK OF JUDGES • “…EVERY MAN DID WHAT WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES.” (JUDGES 21:25)

GIDEON’S CRISIS! • “Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hands of Midian seven years. 2 And the power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves dens which were in the mountains and caves and the strongholds…4 So they (Midian) would camp against them and destroy the produce of the earth… as well as sheep, ox, and donkey… 5 they would come in like locusts, both they and their camels were innumerable; and they came into the land to devastate it. 6 So Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried to the Lord.” (Judges 6:1-6)

  9. GIDEON’S CRISIS • 3. WE ARE AFRAID! • “…MADE FOR THEMSELVES DENS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THE CAVES…” (JUDGES 6:2) • “…GIDEON WAS BEATING OUT WHEAT IN THE WINE PRESS…” (JUDGES 6:11)

  10. GIDEON’S CRISIS • 4. GOD IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!! • “…IF HE IS WITH US, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND WHERE ARE HIS MIRACLES… THE LORD HAS ABANDONED US…” (JUDGES 6:13)

  11. II. GOD’S RESPONSE TO GIDEON’S CRISIS! • RESPONSE # 1: “GIDEON, YOU ARE THE ANSWER!” • “THE LORD IS WITH YOU, O VALIANT WARRIOR!” (JUDGES 6:12) (O MIGHTY MAN OF VALOR!)

  12. RESPONSE #2: “GET UP AND GET GOING!” “BE RESPONSIBLE!” • “AND THE LORD LOOKED AT HIM AND SAID, “GO IN THIS YOUR STRENGTH AND DELIVER ISRAEL FROM THE HAND OF MIDIAN. HAVE NOT I SENT YOU!” (JUDGES 6:14)

  13. TRUTH FOR OUR LIVES TODAY #1. WHEN WE DISOBEY GOD WE CAN EXPECT TROUBLE TO COME TO OUR LIVES! “YOU HAVE NOT OBEYED ME…” (JUDGES 6:10)

  14. TRUTH FOR OUR LIVES TODAY • #2. GOD WANTS US TO FACE THE REALITIES OF OUR LIVES. • “…THEY MADE FOR THEMSELVES DENS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND CAVES… (JUDGES 6:2)

  16. TRUTH FOR OUR LIVES TODAY • #4. GOD CALLS EACH ONE OF US TO BE RESPONSIBLE! • “AND THE LORD LOOKED AT HIM AND SAID, ‘GO AND DELIVER ISRAEL.’ (JUDGES 6:14)

  17. TRUTH FOR OUR LIVES TODAY • #5. GOD PROMISES BOTH HIS PRESENCE AND HIS HELP TO ALL OF US! • “SURELY I WILL BE WITH YOU AND YOU SHALL DEFEAT MIDIAN AS ONE MAN.” (JUDGES 6:16)
