  4. Well Done!! You came up with a lot of really good key words and answers!! we have learned that people can have a huge effect on us by spending the time to show, demonstrate, teach, guide, lead us & by showing us how to do new things. We may have also learned that we can observe other people and try to copy them in order to learn new things. But…we can also learn how to be a better person from other people too.

  5. What are role-Model? New Term: Role-Model – somebody who teaches us how to live by setting a good example. They do not just talk about being a better person; they are good people and do good deeds. Can you think of any examples in your life? Can you think of any examples from the media?

  6. Watch the following clip and feel free to write down some ideas that stick with you… Click on the camera!!! In what ways was the girl’s Mum a really good role-model? What did the Mum teach her Daughter? How did the Mum guide her daughter?

  7. Religious role-models… We have already found out that a good role-model will have a positive affect on our lives… Christians (and people of all faiths) also need role-models in their lives. Being a good person is challenging but it helps if we have people to look up to and who set a good example for us. Christians believe that Jesus is the best example of a role-model. He talked and taught us how to love and treat each other. Jesus also behaved and acted like somebody who cared for others. He did so even when he knew his life was in danger.

  8. One example of what Jesus taught Christians… In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus teaches those listening to him to… ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ {Mk 12:31} As Jesus is a role-model and perfect guide for all christians in how to live like god wants us to live – he inspired and continues to inspire others to this day

  9. A Christian Role-Model in Ireland today…The best ones create many more! What does Peter McVerry teach us? How is he a Christian Role-Model? How does he continue the work of Jesus? How can you be like Jesus in your own way? Click on Picture

  10. Recap… • In what ways can other people can influence us in improving a skill • Give one example of how can Christian role models can influence Christians and all people in becoming better people?
