  4. Provide a high quality multi-use path. Provide safe pedestrian crossings. Maintain arterial capacity. Objectives: • Provide a high quality multi-use path. • Provide safe pedestrian crossings. • Maintain arterial capacity. • Convert road space to green space. • Convert inaccessible green space to accessible green space. • Preserve existing landscape and mature trees. • Separate regional and local traffic. • Provide reasonable access to and from local streets while discouraging cut-thru traffic. • Separate regional and local traffic. • Provide reasonable access to and from local streets while discouraging cut-thru traffic. 5. Northeastern Proposed Design: Signal added at Eliot Street. Signalized intersection replaces existing rotary at Murray Circle. Two coordinated signals replace current rotary at Kelley Circle. Proposed 10’ Paved Multi-Use Path and 6’ Stone Dust Path Outer Arborways now two-way 18’ roadways. Existing signal at Pond Street replaced with all-way stop. Crossover signal separates EB Left and EB Through traffic in order to increase capacity. Redesign of the Arborway

  12. Design provides a 10’ paved multi-use path as well as a 6’ stone dust path. All crossings are signal protected. Design maintains current arterial capacity. Evaluation: • Design provides a 10’ paved multi-use path as well as a 6’ stone dust path. • All crossings are signal protected. • Design maintains current arterial capacity. • Design converts road space to green space. • Design converts inaccessible green space to accessible green space. • No mature trees along the Arborway disrupted. • Design geometrically separates regional and local traffic. • Design provides reasonable access to and from local street. • Design geometrically separates regional and local traffic. • Design provides reasonable access to and from local street.
