    3. Our Mission A partnership of state and local government, communities, and families that enhances the well-being of Ohio’s children and families building community capacity, strategically coordinating systems and services, and engaging and empowering families.

OFCF Cabinet Council Cabinet Council consists of: Governor’s Office First Lady, Chair Departments of Aging Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Budget and Management Developmental Disabilities Education Health Job and Family Services Mental Health Rehabilitation and Correction Youth Services Rehabilitation Services Commission* So who makes up those siloed systems we are focused on? Read Cabinet Council’s membership Recently added in statute – Aging and DRC. Will be adding RSC. In addition, we are looking to create per our statute an advisory board that will provide consultation and feedback to the Cabinet on a regular basis. This is an area that you could consider partnering by serving on the advisory board. So who makes up those siloed systems we are focused on?     11. Family & Civic Engagement OFCF Initiative led by ODE and defined in HB 1 Goal: Together, schools, families and communities work to ensure all children have supports needed to graduate from high school prepared for additional educational experiences, the workforce and a healthy life style.

    12. Family & Civic Engagement Requirements: Local boards of education of each district must appoint a family and civic engagement team. Membership and organization is determined by the local board and it must include parents, community representatives, health and human service representatives, business representatives and any other representatives identified by the board.

    20. The Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commissions was again awarded the HRSA grant for 2009-2013 HRSA Grant

    21. Funding Stream for Ohio’s HRSA Grant HRSA grant was awarded to RSC. RSC sub-contracts with BIAOH. BIAOH sub-contracts with Ohio Valley Center. HRSA Grant: Work Plan (as it relates to Ohio Family & Children First) Goal # 1 Promote greater TBI recognition, understanding, and accommodation-skill acquisition among community based providers through the development of web-based training modules. Designed for Cross-system applicability, the web based modules will target community-based providers within Ohio’s Family and Children First and Ohio National Guard OIF/OEF service systems -(these web-based modules will be provided by Ohio Valley Center) Ohio Valley Center will be providing these web-based modules.Ohio Valley Center will be providing these web-based modules.

Goal # 2 Enhance capacity of Ohio’s TBI-specific resource coordination system to respond to the needs of the community-based providers assisting individuals with TBI and their families within the Ohio Family & Children First and OIF/OEF National Guard programs. Goal # 3 Expand the geographic reach of BIAOH’s Community Support Network System, and it’s staff outreach to local Family & Children First Councils and the Ohio National Guard’s six regional Family Assistance Centers. Goal # 4 Improve the Brain Injury Association of Ohio’s capacity to collect, retrieve, and generate reports showing an increase in resource coordination services provided through its Helpline and Community Support Networks progress to those within Ohio’s Family & Children First and Ohio National Guard OIF/OEF service systems. Goal # 5 Strengthen Ohio’s emerging TBI Caregiver’s Alliance by promoting its effectiveness in providing family members with information, education, and peer support as well as its ability to influence public policy and program development.     33. Survey Analysis Community providers are aware that persons with TBI are on their caseload. Screening tools are underutilized my community providers to identify their clients who may have TBI. Community providers need more information about working with persons with TBI. Inter-system collaborations are needed. Education is welcomed.
