Plot Summary • Mila was raised by dolphins from age 4. • Mila is taken away from the island where she lived near her dolphin family. • Mila lives in a hospital where she learns to speak English, • read, and write. • Mila meets Shay, a girl whose parents kept her locked • in a room all her life. • Mila and Shay are moved to a house with Dr. Beck, • Sandy, Justin, and the other doctors. • Mila learns to work the computer and play the recorder. • Shay is moved to a different place.

  2. Mila wants to go back to the ocean. • Dr. Beck and Justin take her on a boat ride. • Justin takes Mila back to the island nad gives her to her dolphin family.

  3. Main Characters Mila [ dolphin girl] Dr. Beck [ the doctor who teaches Mila Justin [ Dr. Beck` s son] Sandy [ Dr. Beck` s assistant] Shay [ a girl whose parents kept her locked in a room all her life]

  4. Conflict/ Resolution The problem is that Mila is taken away from the sea and can` t go back. That problem is solved by Justin taking her back to her dolphin family.

  5. Opinions Courtney: I think the book was a fantastic story about wanting to belong.
