Fonts - Bad • If you use a small font, your audience won’t be able to read what you have written • CAPITALIZE ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. IT IS DIFFICULT TO READ • Don’t use a font that isn’t easy to • Don’t make your words too big.
Color - Good • Use a color of font that contrasts sharply with the background • Ex: blue font on white background • Use color to reinforce the logic of your structure • Ex: light blue title and dark blue text • Use color to emphasize a point • But only use this occasionally
Color - Bad • Using a font color that does not contrast with the background color is hard to read • Using color for decoration is distracting and annoying. • Using a different color for each point is unnecessary • Trying tobe creativecan alsobe bad
Background - Good • Use backgrounds such as this one that are attractive but simple • Use the same background consistently throughout your presentation • This means the same color scheme. • Or the same type of design or theme, etc.
Background - Good • If your background is blurry, don’t use it. • Don’t use animated backgrounds. • Try to stay away from pictures being your background.
Background – Bad • Avoid backgrounds that are distracting or difficult to read from • Always be consistent with the background that you use
Graphics-Good • Use graphics that are related to your theme. • Don’t put too many graphics on one slide. • Don’t put more than one animated graphic on a slide.
Graphics-Good • Make sure the colors of the graphic work with your background and words. • Don’t let a graphic cover up your words. • Don’t stretch your graphic so that it’s blurry.
Spelling and Grammar • Proof your slides for: • spelling mistakes • the use of repeated words • grammatical errors you might have made
