"I think British design is important across the world. It's one of the things that makes Britain stand out around the world. I think that's incredibly important. It's part of our global identity." Ed Vaizey, October 2010
“There has to be a sense that manufacturing offers a good, attractive, career opportunity through skill training for school leavers and for graduates. Partly this is about capturing the imagination of what it will be like in the industries of the future. It is also about communicating that average salaries are comparable to those in the legal or financial services.” Vince Cable, January 2011

So why are we here…..? You are the face of the future of our subject – without your passion, you lobbying your SLT, your governors, your local press, your MP ………we are a dead subject
Learning Outcomes By the end of the session, course delegates will :- • Have designed • a rear bike light for a mountain bike (beginners) • a SOS whistle with some LED features (advanced) • have designed a circuit board using PICs • have an understanding of some of the features of CAD software • Design a CAD housing for the product • Produced .stl files for 3D printing
Designed the Printed Circuit Board Designed a CAD enclosure for the product ready for 3D printing Designing a PIC based circuit We used the following algorithm for designing our project Downloaded Program INPUT PROCESS OUTPUT FEEDBACK
The Bike Light – Ian, Nicky & Les PCB Stuff
Worked hard to integrate small switches – all sorts of problems then changed design
You may find this link useful it will provide you with a viewer to look at .stl files www.edrawingsviewer.com/pages/products/index.htm
Mates with 2 contacts in body when lid is screwed down 2 wire contacts in lid On/off switch
So much to tell you here……. I think I’ll best describe the PCB
