  2. Instagram allows a privacy setting in which someone must request to see your pictures. This is optional. Students can use this app to share pictures with other students, such as a quote from a book they are reading in English class.

Share to Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr-It’s photo sharing, reinvented. Instagramwas created by Kevin SystromandMike Krieger and launched in October 2010. The service rapidly gained popularity, with over 100 million registered users (and around 90 million monthly active users) as of January 2013.Instagram was originally available for only the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch; but in April 2012, support was added for Android devices as well.

By following students, teachers are aware of their interests and can also share photos with them. For instance if a student follows a teachers instagram, the teacher can put helpful visuals for the students homework, or even assign homework through the site.
