Tips for success • Engineering notebook …daily accountability. • File storage: cd rw, thumb drives, “extra” network storage, hard drive?... • All activities done in pairs or teams. • Spend time early exploring software…simple structures through commercial during semester……site work tricky…
More Tips • Spend ample time on structural calculations during related activities and in review mode… Part B of final exam will be very challenging. • Overarching project “Commercial project/final presentation” is a full quarter and then some depending on how much detail you develop….don’t get bogged down early.
More Tips… • The Projects: • 1)Arch/CE research presentation; • 2)Simple structures Revit; • 3) Lakehouse project; and all related drawings • 4) Surveying; Legal Descriptions • 5) Contour Map (3d) survey mapping • 6) Commercial Project and presentation, full set of plans, and professional presentation of idea • --includes all project development knowledge (covenants, title search, etc), all site work topics, utilities, structural, all calculations (MDSolids) • (we do not do the soil analysis project although it will be introduced during the site work section.
