  9. Gauguin & van Gogh • Gauguin joined van Gogh in Arles in 1888, but the visit was brief • He returned to Paris in December 1888 after a fall-out with van Gogh • Spent most of 1889 in Brittany • He felt like a misunderstood outsider • April 1891 left for Tahiti Night Café - 1888
