  2. Okay, so now you know that reality is constructed . . . But HOW? • Signs and Symbols: • Write down the costume that would be given to an actor for the following parts: • Superhero • Office manager • Lawyer • Homeless person • Drunk

Denotation and Connotation • Although there are surface meanings for every object, there are also associations made with many objects, whether consciously or subconsciously done . . . • What do the following objects suggest: • Rainbow • Maple leaf • Cowboy boots • Orange jumper/overalls • Diamond ring

  5. You will choose one genre of film or music and create a cover using a never-before used title/group and symbols that will reveal the genre. Symbols include objects or events that represent a stereotype or generalization. Genres of Film: Horror Action Drama Comedy Romance Thriller Genres of Music: Country Jazz Pop Rock Heavy Metal Classical Designing CD & DVD Covers with Symbols
