Curse • A curseis any expressed wish that some form of misfortune will attach to one or more persons, a place, or an object. • Ιt may refer to a wish made effective by a supernatural or spiritual power, such as a spirit, a natural force or else as a kind of spell by magic or witchcraft. • To reverse or eliminate a curse is sometimes called "removal" or "breaking“ and is often believed to require elaborate rituals or prayers…..

  3. Blessing • A blessing is exactly the opposite thing of a curse… • In religion, a blessing is the connection between something and: a) holiness b) spiritual redemption c) divine will (will of God)

Hope’s diamond • Probably the most famous cursed diamond….. • Originally stolen from an Hindu idol, ended up to the hands of: 1)Jean Batiste Tavernier (was eaten by his dogs) 2)Marie Antoinette and her husband(both beheaded) 3)Lord Frances Hope(inherited the diamond and lost all his money) 4)Princess De Labal(beaten to death by the mob) 5)Jack Cole(commited suicide) 6)Surabaya(murdered by her lover) 7)Simona Mandarine(died in a car accident with her family) 8)Evelyn Macklin(lost all her family and died alone) • The diamond is now located in Natural History Museum(New York)

  5. Koh-i-Noor diamond • This diamond is 1861/16 Carats • Is located in London’s Tower between the jewelry of the crown. • It came from India on 1850. • It was given to the Britain Royal Family. • Today it is found on Queen Elisabeth’s crown. • It can only affect men.

The purple sapphire of Delhi • This jewelry was discovered 30 years ago from Peter Tanti. • It was found in a showcase with precious stones, sealed in many different boxes. • The cursed sapphire was brought to England from Bengal by the colonel Feris. (went broke) • The sapphire was bought by the writer Edward Heron Alen. • The jewelry was finally sealed and sent away with the instructions that it should stay locked until the death of Heron Alen. • And also that under no circumstances the sapphire could make contact with Heron Alen’s daughter.

The golden pin of Lydia • The pin and the necklace are part of Lydia’s king Criso’s treasure which was stolen on 574 BC. • These have caused serious problems…. • On 1965 when the treasure was discovered the problems started. • The treasure was found in the grave of an unknown princess and was immediately plundered…. • Every person who had stolen the grave died after a while due to serious illnesses.

The black diamond of Orlof’s • Also known as ‘Brahmas eye’ • Had been stolen from one of the eyes of a statue of the Hindu goddess Brahma in Ponticeri and associated with a curse • G.Pari, who was holding the diamond on 1932 (commited suicide) • Two Russian princesses Nadia Wggegin and Leonila Galatina Baritanski commited suicide • After the suicides, the diamond was cut into three different pieces.
