Introduction • Eye4Software Hydromagic stores data from all sensors directly to ASCII files before processing; • All records in this file are time stamped using a millisecond resolution timer; • User can configure latency per device, this value is subtracted from the timestamp; • Raw data files will not be altered after performing your sounder, so you will always be able to roll back to the original data;

  3. Recording a sounding • Configure your hardware and vessel dimensions and offsets; • Create a new project and select a map projection; • Create guidance lines for your sounding (optional); • Click the “record” button to start recording data; • At the end of the guidance line, click the “record” button again to stop recording. When clicking the “record” button again for the next line, a new file will be created; • When you are ready collecting data, you can process the raw data files using the “Create sounding(s) wizard”;

  4. The wizard: Page 1 Just a page showing the user what is going to happen next !

  5. The wizard: page 2 In the second page, we select which raw data files are going to be processed and converted into sounding data.

  6. The wizard: page 3 In this page you will configure the tide options. The wizard supports RTK tide corrections, tide receivers or manual corrections using a tide file.

  7. The wizard: page 4 You can select a file for either draft or sound velocity corrections here. Both files are optional.

  8. The wizard: page 5 This page offers four utilities to filter, remove or alter data in the raw data files.

  9. Echogram Editor Use the echogram editor to remove spikes and zero values from your data files.You can simply remove data by selecting it using the mouse and clicking the “Remove” button.

  11. Speadsheet Editor The spreadsheet editor allows you to manually alter data in your data files.You can use this tool in cases the echogram or position data editor does not suffice.

  12. Data Filtering Use the data filtering option to remove data by specifying limits.

  13. The wizard: page 6 Select the output options for the generated sounding.

  14. Generated Sounding An example of a sounding generated with the “Generate sounding(s) wizard”. Interval of the data points has been set to 0.25sec
