Program Presentation • Mr. Philip Clark HHS IT Capital Planning Officer HHS Office of the CIO • Topic: HHS Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) and Program/Project Manager (PM) Certification
Working Groups • To be successful the PMCoE and the Community must meet Community needs • Your participation is critical to provide input and develop solutions • The NIH approach is working groups for specific areas of interest • The following are suggested to support Community priorities validated in the previous meeting • Volunteers for leadership and participation are requested
Working Groups • PM Community Chairperson • Program Working Groups • Professional Development Working Group • Training Working Group • Communications Working Group • Standards and Definitions Working Group
PM Community Chairperson • Responsibilities • Represent the Community to the PMCoE; • Coordinate Community needs; • Lead Community-wide efforts, and • Provide guidance and recommendations.
Program Working Group • Responsibilities • Identify Community program needs; • Communicate preferences and suggestions; • Identify speakers and programs, and • Assist in Scheduling, and arranging presentations, speakers, and education sessions.
Professional Development Working Group • Responsibilities • Identify, monitor, and communicate professional issues, concerns, and opportunities; • Assist in development of NIH basic PM training curriculum and materials; • Serve as focal point for monitoring PM certification requirements; • Develop training recommendations to meet community needs and certification requirements, and • Develop and coordinate plans and recommendations relating to community career path development, competencies, and training.
Training Working Group • Responsibilities • Identify Community training needs; • Identify objectives and develop curriculum for NIH basic training curriculum and materials; • Identify opportunities, and programs for education and training; • Support Program and Professional Growth Working Groups in identifying, recommending, and scheduling training related speakers, programs, and opportunities.
Communications Working Group • Responsibilities • Suggest web site content; • Identify, recommend, or develop content for inclusion on web site; • Recommend site design and organization changes; • Identify, recommend, or develop materials for dissemination to the Community, and • Develop and support communication plans and media for the community.
Standards and Definitions Working Group • Develop, coordinate, and recommend standard terms, definitions, and project artifacts; • Identify, develop, and maintain a library of best of breed project artifacts for Community use, • Monitor Project Management best practices to identify standards, practices, procedures, tools, and artifacts and recommend incorporation and use when appropriate.
