RULES OF SIMPLIFYING EXPRESSIONS • Take GCF of numerator(s) and denominator(s) if possible. • Factor the numerator(s) (top) into simplest form • Factor the denominator(s) (bottom) into the simplest form • Cancel [cross] out the factors if needed, multiply and simplify.
