  1. Quick Tips on How to Clean Your Clogged 3D Printer Nozzle 3D printing has come a long way since it was first invented in the 1980s. This technology is reimaging lives and altering object and product production. Everything runs smoothly when your 3D printer is working perfectly. However, 3D printing comes with its own set of challenges. At times, you might be faced with issues such as a clogged nozzle, misbehaving extruder assembly, and messy filaments, among others. This article will share tips on how to clean a 3D printer nozzle. What Are the Symptoms of a Clogged 3D Printer Nozzle? ▪Printed lines appear thinner and/or don’t stick to the build plate. ▪ The filament sticks to the nozzle or curls when purged. ▪ The printed object is faulty. ▪There’s a clicking sound when the extruder tries to press against the material. What are The Causes of a Clogged Nozzle? Nozzle clogging occurs when material residue is burnt-on due to an incorrect temperature setting. For example, when residue material from a previous print is heated at a higher temperature, it gets burnt and can cause clogging. Other causes may include: • Wrong Nozzle Height • Incorrect Temperature Setting • Dust and Dirt. • Low-quality filament

  2. How To Clean Your Nozzle There are many different methods of cleaning your 3D printer nozzle. The method you use will depend on how severe the clog is. For instance, if it is partially clogged, you will only need a cleaning filament to unclog your nozzle. If you are experiencing a full nozzle clog, you might need to use different methods to unclog it. Some of the methods used to remedy full clogs include; needles, incineration, and acetone, among other methods. Acetone is also used to clean 3D printer beds, and you are recommended to use it after every print. To avoid nozzle clogging, you can: • Store your filaments properly • Use filaments produced by reputable manufacturers. • Clean your nozzle as soon as possible once you finish printing. • Heat the nozzle before loading, changing, and unloading the filament.
