NSCHC Updates • Puerto Rico’s information for the NSOPW check was offline for a while due to Hurricane Maria • CNCS provided an exemption if: • The member or staff starts(ed) service sometime between September 19 and November 1, 2017 • The NSOPW check is re-conducted and documented by November 15th • Puerto Rico appears to be back online, so make sure you have redone any NSOPW checks by 11/15, otherwise check will not be compliant • OIG doing surprise CHC audits • Colleagues at other commissions report that some programs are getting visits and communication directly from OIG, without commissions’ knowledge • Still waiting to hear from CNCS about disallowance processing from 16-17
Lawsuit regarding NCCC screening • The ACLU has filed a lawsuit against CNCS alleging discriminatory screening procedures around health issues • This is getting a lot of publicity, not differentiating between types of AmeriCorps Service • Residential (or other?) programs: please let us know if you have health screening procedures and what they are if so.
Fiscal Updates • IPERIA • Thanks to those of you who were selected by CNCS to participate in the IPERIA process, we appreciated your patience and cooperation • Match percentage • Due to changes from CNCS, we will be more diligent about ensuring that programs are meeting their match percentage throughout the year • Please pass this information along to your organization’s financial team • PER mistake that does not affect totals • Look for a revised PER from Raffi (admin temp) over the next few weeks
