  2. “After two days of traveling, we began to be tortured by thirst” (Wiesel 18).“We were given no food. We lived in snow; it took the place of bread” (Wiesel 73). • The Jews were being deprived of nutrition. They only ate thin soup and little bread. They also didn’t drink much water. Most of the population that were captured, died of malnutrition.
