CABARRUS CHARTER ACADEMY 2013-2014 STATE TEST RESULTS • Cabarrus Charter exceeded state proficiency rates by 16 percent in reading, 18 percent in math, and 14 percent in science. This is a net advantage of over 48 percentage points. • School-wide, Cabarrus outperformed the state, districts and local area schools on CCR levels. • Collectively between Cabarrus Charter and Langtree Charter, CCR Reading results were more than 15 percentage points higher than the state and districts, and CCR Math results were more than 16 percentage points higher

Reporting • CSUSA’s Narrative Report Card • Secured online access to PowerSchool for parents, students, teachers and administrators • Real-time information on student progress • Personal Learning Plans (set during Oct. conferences) • Student generated goal setting • Parental support • Concrete action plan
Responsive Classrooms • Class Dojo being used in all 3rd grade classrooms • Logical consequences given based on the action • Morning meetings held every morning – Greeting, sharing, activity and message • Building positive classroom community • “Take a break” chair
Reading Plus • This is an online program designed to improve capacity, efficiency and motivation • Insight test • iBalance, Read Around, See Reader • Combos – 3 combos = 1 book for Reading Challenge • Use this as a part of homework and needs to be tracked
Differentiated Classrooms • Math and Reading • Pre-tests, NWEA scores & mClass levels • Students will be taught on an instructional level that will best benefit them • Homework/vocabulary will be differentiated
