37. Sage MAS Intelligence is an automated set of tools that allows you to extract information from one or more data sources and bring that information into formatted Excel spreadsheet for analysis or further manipulation and formatting.
One of biggest benefits of Sage MAS Intelligence is its ability to connect to any ODBC-compliant database. With the Connector module, a connection can be established to various types of databases, even multiple databases of the same type at the same time. Connections specify which tables or views and fields will be part of the report. Different connections can be defined to access different types of information such as financial or sales information.
Reports are created and maintained in the Report Manager module. After selecting the appropriate connection or “container”, you can further define report information including filters, parameters or data aggregation.
When a report is run, the information is extracted directly from the database and is delivered to Excel most often to preformatted templates allowing charts and pivot tables to be refreshed automatically. Reports can be scheduled to run as needed, emailed to recipients, or published to an HTML file for posting to a company intra- or internet website.
