Trina Solar Through a commitment to innovative research and development, Trina Solar continues to set industry standards and benchmarks for performance and sustainability. Trina was the first company to receive Client Test Data Program (CTDP) certification from UL, allowing us to conduct cutting-edge research reliably on campus.
Research and development With robust and rigorous R&D, Trina Solar has been hard at work and our rapid rate of innovation has led to more than 1376 photovoltaic patents filed, with 795 patents approved.
Optimizing efficiency Trina continues to advance efficiency boundaries, with both p-type monocrystalline and p-type multicrystalline cell conversion efficiencies reaching a respective 22.61(2016) percent and 21.25 (2015) percent respectively in the laboratory. Trina Solar State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology of China has set a new world record of 24.58% for a high-efficiency n-type mono-crystalline silicon (c-Si) i-TOPCon solar cell in May. 2019.
Our research hub Our state-of-the-art research and development facility, the State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology acts as a hub for fostering innovation through partnerships with leading universities and research institutions.
R&D partnerships Trina’s State Key Laboratory for PV Science and Technology ranks as one of the most advanced PV research center for the invention and innovation of applied technology in solar power. The lab has welcomed research collaboration and partnerships with other leading technology and science centers to create cutting-edge solar solutions and products.
