  2. Adversary • Definition: 1) An opponent ; an enemy • Part of Speech: noun • Sentence: His adversary had only one rule—to win.

  3. Belligerent • Definition: Hostile; aggressive; quarrelsome • Part of Speech: adjective • Sentence: The minor argument turned into a belligerent shouting match.

  4. Contradictory • Definition: Expressing the opposite; inconsistent • Part of Speech: adjective • Sentence: We were puzzled by the contradictory statements of the two witnesses.

  5. Discord • Definition: Lack of agreement or harmony • Part of Speech: noun • Sentence: The vacation was ruined by the discord of the campers.

  6. Embroil • Definition: To get involved in a conflict, an argument, or conclusion • Part of Speech: verb • Sentence: Try to not get embroiled in arguments between other people.

  7. Haggle • Definition: To argue or bargain in order to come to favorable terms or a good price. • Part of Speech: Verb • Sentence: Some people go to flea markets just for the fun of haggling over prices.
