Type’s of Rock • Limestone • It can be used for remineralizing and increasing the alkalinity of purified water to prevent pipe corrosion and to restore essential nutrient levels. • Dolomite • Dolomite is also used as the substrate in marine(saltwater) aquariums to help buffer changes in pH of the water. • Calcareous Sand • Calcareous Sand counters the acid in the stream from acid rain.
